Are you keen to work outside, meet new people or interested in woodland conservation? Then why not come and help the Friends of Park Wood.

We meet on the first Saturday of the month and are looking for volunteers to help with path clearing and tidying around the trees. No experience is necessary!

If outdoor work is not for you, we also meet bi-monthly on the last Wednesday of the month to discuss future developments & projects. Your contribution is welcome.

DRY STONE WALL REPAIR

In the Autumn of 2025, we ran a free Dry Stone Walling course here in the wood which involved volunteers learning to build and fix  a section of the wall that was needing repaired in Park Wood. The course was led by Louise Kirkbride of the Dry Stone Walling Association and was funded by a grant from Keighley Big Local Partnership - thank you very much to them!

Our aim was to rebuild the pictured stretch of wall in a traditional way and pass on the skills of the craft. As you can see from the images, a great job was done!

PARK WOOD IS DESIGNATED AS A NEW NATURE RESERVE

Exciting news! Park Wood has been designated as one of the eight beauty spots across Bradford district as new nature reserves in a bid to boost wildlife and improve access to green spaces.

Our local authority worked with friends of groups across the district, Natural England and Wharfedale Naturalists trustee Steve Parkes to secure designation for the sites.

We're so pleased!
