We are researching the history of the woodland and seeking people's reminiscences. We would like to document how the popular spot has been used over the years and what has changed in recent times.
We would be interested to hear from anyone with their personal memories such as playing in the woods or sledging as a child or of the gas lamps that once lit the cobbled path, Old photos showing identifiable parts of the wood would be great too, together with any commonly-used names to identify particular landmarks on the site.
If you have any info regarding Park Wood - we're very keen to hear from you, please email us at [email protected]

Friends of Park Wood were thoughtfully sent some links to walking routes that include the woodland of Park Wood by BANDAG (Braithwaite and North Dean Action Group). The walk guides are put together by Bradford Met District Council and Sport Keighley.
We have published these walking guides on the About page. It might be a nice idea for something to do with the kids this summer! Check them out here >> A big thank you to BANDAG for thinking of us! Friends of Park Wood had an article featured on us about our last Work Party meet up and Launch Event that will be happening in July. See the article here: Telegraph & Argus article on FOPW >>
Big Local is an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas around England to use at least £1m to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their communities. It’s about bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live.
Park Wood is right in the middle of the Keighley Valley Big Local area, Friends of Park Wood will be attending Big Local meetings to share in the conversation about how the money can be spent.
