Friends of Park Wood hosted the summer Green Drinks event in July. Green Drinks is a social event for those with an interest in green issues, so whether you are interested in local food, green technology or Carbon footprints this is an opportunity to meet with people who share your values.
It is also an opportunity to meet some of the people who will be playing a part in guiding the overall direction of BIG Local and contribute to shaping plans for the 10 year initiative which aims to achieve lasting positive change in the area.
Residents from the BIG Local area attended and shared their views on the green issues which affect them and learned a little more about the opportunities available to celebrate and enhance existing activity and create new green initiatives.
France-Leigh, FoPW Secretary, said, "It was a great way of finding out the great local projects and initiatives that are happening in and around Keighley and make connectionswith like-minded people while enjoying our beautiful woodland of Park Wood."
A huge thank you to Annie Berrington from Get Out More who provided drinks, marshmallows and whittling fun and a camp fire, also thanks Shaun O Hare from KIVCA who co-ordinates the Big Local initiative and Green Drinks event and BANDAG for taking pictures :)
